1. Your Responsibilities as a WhatsApp Business API User
By connecting your WhatsApp number to WebOrigin, you agree to:
- Comply with Meta's WhatsApp Business Policy in all messaging — this is Meta's requirement, not just ours
- Only use approved message templates for bulk/outbound messages outside the 24-hour window
- Maintain opt-in records for all contacts you send MARKETING messages to
- Honor opt-out requests immediately — remove opted-out contacts from all future campaigns
- Not send misleading, false, or harmful content via WhatsApp
- Maintain accurate business identity — your WhatsApp profile must match your registered business
- Not impersonate other businesses or individuals
2. What Happens if You Violate Meta's Policies
If you violate Meta's WhatsApp Business policies:
- Meta may restrict your WhatsApp number's messaging capacity
- Meta may disable your WhatsApp Business Account (WABA)
- These are Meta's unilateral decisions — WebOrigin has no influence over them
- WebOrigin will NOT provide refunds for service interruptions caused by Meta policy decisions
3. Opt-In Requirements

How to collect opt-in:
- Students who message your number first — they have implicitly opted in to receive a reply
- Lead capture forms — include "I agree to receive updates on WhatsApp"
- Physical enrolment forms — add "I consent to WhatsApp communications from [Institute Name]"
4. The 24-Hour Window Rule
Critical WhatsApp Rule:
If an end user messages you, you have 24 hours to send free-form replies. After 24 hours, you MUST use a pre-approved message template.
What WebOrigin does automatically:
- Tracks last inbound message time per end user
- Blocks non-template sends outside the 24-hour window
- Shows 24-hour window status in the inbox
- Enforces template-only bulk sends at all times
